Cataract Surgery

A cataract is a cloudy area that develops on the lens of the eye, blocking light to the back of the eye, resulting in changes in one's vision. These changes can include cloudy, fuzzy or filmy vision, changes in the way you see colors, increased glare from headlights, lamps or the sun, frequent changes in your eyeglass prescription, and double vision.

Comprehensive eye exams can detect the presence cataracts. They can be treated with stronger bifocals or magnifying lenses to improve your vision on a temporary basis. However, once the loss of vision begins to affect your life or the things you enjoy doing, cataracts can be surgically removed in a minor, outpatient procedure. This procedure entails the removal of the cataract and the implanting of an artificial lens. Many of our patients are able to enjoy the freedom of no longer needing reading glasses following this procedure.

The physicians at Eye Care of San Diego / California Laser Vision Inc. offer you vast experience in performing cataract surgery. You can be assured that you or your family members will receive unsurpassed care by one of the best surgeons in the field. If you suspect you may have a cataract, please call for a comprehensive eye examination.
