Why should I consider Facial Rejuvenation?

Both nature and heredity play an important role in the aging of your skin. The elements
we endure on a daily basis including exposure to sun, pollution, stress, alcohol,
and smoke can accelerate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face
and around the eyes. As time wears on, the skin on the face and around the eyes
may also begin to sag or droop, resulting in a much older appearance.
If you're still searching for the fountain of youth to stop the aging process, it may be time to
consider an alternative method to reduce the signs of aging. Facial Rejuvenation
includes Laser Skin Resurfacing, Endoscopic
Forehead Rejuvenation, and Blepharoplasty.
What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Laser Skin Resurfacing reduces wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes and mouth,
softens deep laugh and frown lines, restores sun damaged skin, and minimizes
surgical / acne scarring. This technique uses light pulses to accurately
and precisely vaporize skin imperfections, revealing the new skin underneath
without harming surrounding tissue. In order to determine if Laser Skin
Resurfacing is right for you, Dr. Morton
will consider your age, your skin pigmentation, your desired results,
and past medical history. The procedure lasts anywhere between a half-hour
and two hours depending on the areas being treated. Depending on the severity
of your skin imperfections, one or more sessions may be necessary. Laser
Skin Resurfacing can also be done during Forehead
Rejuvenation or Eyelid Surgery.

What is Endoscopic Forehead Rejuvenation?

Often times the droopy and tired look around the eyes is in large part due to gravity's
effect on the forehead. Dealing with the extra upper eyelid skin will
not entirely correct this. Endoscopic forehead surgery involves several
small, well-hidden incisions, and the use of a mini telescope to elevate
the forehead to a more youthful level. This procedure alone may remedy
the extra eyelid skin in some, others will need additional eyelid surgery.
Additional benefits include reduction of the laugh lines or crows feet
at the corner of the eyes. This procedure may be combined with Laser
Skin Resurfacing or Eyelid Surgery.

What is Blepharoplasty?
is the eyelid surgery used to improve the appearance of the eyelids and can be
performed with standard incisional techniques or with a laser. Overtime upper and lower eyelids
have a tendency to become "droopy", or "baggy" due to your skin
stretching, muscles weakening, and internal changes that allow fat pockets to
become more prominent. Aesthetically, these changes may detract from the overall
attractiveness of ones eyes, imparting a tired or older appearance. With progression
these conditions may also cause functional problems, such as reduced peripheral
vision or difficulty wearing glasses.
Frequently, the excess skin in the upper eyelids is due to droopy eyebrows. In these cases,
Dr. Morton will recommend an
Endoscopic Forehead Rejuvenation
procedure to elevate the eyebrows to their more youthful
state. Patients with fine lines around the outer corner of the eye and
along the lower eyelid may also wish to consider laser
skin resurfacing at the time of their blepharoplasty.
Dr. Morton
and his staff will be happy to discuss these options with you. To schedule
