John E. Bokosky, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a highly esteemed San Diego surgeon celebrated for his exceptional expertise in cornea surgery and vision correction. Currently serving as the Medical Director at Eye Care of San Diego, Dr. Bokosky holds key positions at renowned institutions including Scripps-Mercy Hospital, Sharp Memorial Hospital, and Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego County. Dr. Bokosky has surgical expertise in penetrating, lamellar and endothelial corneal transplant surgery; cataract extraction using phacoemulsification; LenSx; ORA; intraocular lens implants (IOL); and multifocal and accommodative IOL options, including Restor, Tecnis and Crystalens. He consults on complicated intraocular lens implant problems and diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, including dry eye, blepharitis, post-refractive issues, and severe ocular and corneal conditions, including infections. He performs pterygium surgery with ocular surfacing using amniotic membrane grafting and limbal stem cell transplants.
